Puthut nyini, in my Kalkatungu language, welcome, it’s great to have you here.

I’m Sid Domic, an artist, storyteller and former professional rugby league player.
I’m also a proud Kalkadoon descendant from north-west Queensland, though I only discovered that part of my identity at the age of 28.

That discovery was the spark that set me on a lifelong journey of self-discovery, a deep urge to learn about my ancestors, their stories, their symbols, and the Country they walked.
Through painting, I found a way to reconnect with that lineage, to listen, to learn, and to express the stories that live in both memory and landscape.
Throughout my early years I was very privileged to have learned from my grandmother Nan Domic.

Before art, I lived and breathed sport. I played professional rugby league across Australia and England, with the Brisbane Broncos, Penrith Panthers, Warrington Wolves, Hull FC and Wakefield Wildcats. The discipline and movement I learned on the field became the rhythm I now bring to canvas.

Today, my work brings together those worlds, culture, connection, and creativity. Each painting is a continuation of that rediscovery, an honouring of those who came before me, and an offering for the next generation.
